Google sign-in and dodge roll improvements
Accounts become 12-digit UIDs, so you can start with Google and link a wallet when you need diamonds. Closed beta accounts start fresh from this update.
Released
Highlights
Google sign-in · 12-digit UID accounts
Start with Google, no wallet needed. Nicknames, guilds and engraving work without a wallet; link one when you need diamonds.
Review event · 500 diamonds
Link a wallet, join a guild and craft a spear, then write a review to get 500 diamonds at once. 50 reviewers are drawn for a WhiteList spot.
Dodge roll 4.5 ⇒ 7.2
Shift rolls the moment you press it, and Q cuts a basic attack short instead of waiting for it.
Optimization
Frame time where many items lie on the ground went from 11.7 ⇒ 4.3 ms, among other client and server work.
Read this first: accounts start fresh
Accounts moved from wallet addresses to account numbers (UIDs) issued by the game. Earlier data was not carried over.
| Not carried over | Details |
|---|---|
| Accounts and nicknames | Wallet-address accounts and their registered nicknames |
| Guilds | Every guild with its emblem, notice and records |
| Progress | Levels, mastery, bag, storage, equipment and silver |
| Diamonds and purchases | Diamond balances, bag upgrades, the black, white and brown horses |
| Profiles | Profile pictures, likes and kill boards |
| Invite links | Old ?ref=0x… links stop working. New links use ?ref=<UID> |
- Beta items, guilds and diamonds are testnet data with no real value.
- Link a wallet to your new account to receive the 1,000 starter diamonds again. Each network (IP address) receives one grant per day (UTC).
New accounts: Google sign-in and UIDs
Sign in with a Google account or a browser wallet. Your first sign-in issues a random 12-digit account number (UID). The UID is public: other players can see it on your profile. You stay signed in until you sign out or for 30 days without playing.
Starting with Google, you play without a wallet. The server pays the fees for actions recorded on chain, such as registering a nickname, joining a guild or engraving.
Without a wallet you can
- Gather, craft, hunt, fight bosses and other players, and trade with silver merchants
- Register a nickname and change it once
- Join, leave and apply to guilds, receive the guild master role, serve as war leader and engrave
- Distribute season rewards (officers), pick up guild supply crates, invite friends, receive mail and earn season badges
You need a linked wallet to (anything that spends or receives diamonds)
- Send mail (10 diamonds for text, 50 with an attachment)
- Create a guild, rename it or upload an emblem image, order supplies, bless a castle, or pay for a nickname change
- Use the black market, passes, mounts and bag upgrades
- Receive season rewards and the 1,000 starter diamonds
Link a wallet from Connect Wallet on the diamond counter at the top or from Settings → Account. Until you do, a red dot shows on the menu, settings and account tab.
Before you link
- A link cannot be undone. One account has one wallet, and a wallet linked to another account cannot be linked again. Changing or removing the wallet is not supported.
- A Google account and a wallet account cannot be merged. You can add Google sign-in to an account you started with a wallet, and link a wallet to an account you started with Google. Start with one of the two.
- Once linked, your Google account can spend those diamonds in the game. Turn on two-step verification for it. Moving diamonds out of the wallet still needs the wallet’s private key.
- Browser extension wallets such as MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, OKX Wallet and the Brave wallet are supported. QR connection from a phone wallet (WalletConnect) is not supported yet.
Also changed
- Accounts with a linked wallet show a small gold wallet mark after the nickname (chat, guilds, rankings, mail and name plates). It means “this account can send and receive diamonds”, not that the team has verified it. Other players’ wallet addresses are never shown.
- Address mail to the exact nickname or the UID.
- Nicknames made only of digits, or with wallet-like emoji (👛 👝), are refused.
- Diamonds sent to your wallet from outside the game appear while you are online.
- Long names on name plates end with “…” before the wallet mark and the health number.
Event: write a review, get 500 diamonds
Join from Review Event in the Events window.
How to take part
- Link a wallet. The reward diamonds go to this wallet.
- Join a guild.
- Craft a spear yourself (stone, iron, dark iron or imugi spear). A spear bought from a shop or received by mail does not count.
- Write a review of 30–500 characters and submit it. One review per account; it cannot be edited after you submit.
Rewards
- 500 diamonds go to your linked wallet the moment you submit.
- 50 reviewers are drawn for a WhiteList spot. Benefits will be announced later, and winners are announced on our official social channels, not in the game.
- Reviews written after the draw still get the 500 diamonds but are not entered in the draw.
- The event period will be announced separately.
Good to know
- Only the team reads reviews; they are not published.
Combat: dodge roll and skill response
You told us the roll gained almost no distance and skills fired a beat late. The cause was the order of input handling, not the animations.
| Before ⇒ After | |
|---|---|
| Roll distance (running 0.6 s = 3.6) | 4.5 ⇒ 7.2 |
| From pressing Shift to the roll starting | about 0.2 s ⇒ immediate |
| Q during a basic attack | waited for the attack to end (about 0.3 s) ⇒ cuts the attack and fires |
| Q while holding Space | did not fire ⇒ fires |
| Cooldown · invulnerability | 3 s · 0.3 s (unchanged) |
- The roll animation was remade. The old one turned 51° off the travel direction and did not read as a roll. It now rolls once, smoothly, along the direction you move. Cloaks, satchels and quivers may dip into the ground for a moment during the roll.
- A quick tap of Shift now always rolls. Before, a tap was sometimes ignored.
- Shift during gathering or repairing stops the work and rolls at once.
- Your character is no longer pulled back after a roll or a stop. With a 0.2 s round trip: about 1 ⇒ 0.
- When the server refuses a roll (during the cooldown, for example), your character returns to place without teleporting.
- Dodge grace for monster attacks: a roll pressed when an attack lands on your screen now counts. The server measures your connection delay and waits up to 0.15 s before judging monster, boss and hazard strikes, so damage numbers may appear that much later. It does not apply to player-versus-player fights.
Control change
- Shift+Tab (reverse target cycling) was removed. Holding Shift back to tell it apart from Tab is what delayed the roll. To cycle targets in reverse, bind a key to Cycle Targets Backward in Key Bindings (unbound by default). Tab still selects the next target.
Camera and display
- Fixed the closest camera zoom going under the ground on slopes. The camera now stays above ground and water.
- Fixed monster and bandit health bars and your own name plate growing large enough to cover the screen when zoomed in. Wolf health bar 249 ⇒ 112 px at the closest zoom.
- Monster names flicker less while the camera turns, and no longer jump in size for one frame after a big camera move.
- Name plates now use the same typeface as the HUD, so names that were cut off show in full.
- Fixed Han characters drawn in Korean shapes on Japanese and Chinese screens.
- Chat flags: choosing “Don’t show” for your country in settings now also removes the flag from chat lines and notices you already sent.
Performance
Measured in a local test setup on the same scenes before and after. What you notice depends on your PC and connection.
| Scene | Before ⇒ After |
|---|---|
| Frame time with 140 items on the ground | 11.7 ⇒ 4.3 ms |
| Longest stall while auto-moving to a distant enemy gate | 1.1 s ⇒ 0.017 s |
| Frame time with 60 distant players, tents and campfires | 3.69 ⇒ 2.88 ms |
| Font download on the Japanese and Chinese sign-in screen | about 1.1 MB ⇒ 45 KB |
| Until the first screen shows styled (Korean, 0.1 s round trip, 20 Mbps) | 0.62 s ⇒ 0.52 s |
| Movement data the server sends where many players walk | 3.8 KB ⇒ 2.3 KB per tick |
Server-side saving and idle work are lighter too (median save pause 71 ⇒ 1.5 ms).
Fixes
- Merchants, the notice board and the black market missing after signing in again
- Siege sounds playing nonstop near an isolated castle
- Brief freezes while auto-following a target with no open path, caused by the route being recalculated over and over
Terms and privacy policy
The terms of service, privacy policy and fair play policy were updated for the new accounts and the review event. They apply from this update.
- New items collected: account number (UID), Google account identifier (the Google account’s email, name and photo are not stored), sign-in session (30 days)
- Review event records: the review text, and the IP address, browser details, country and account details at submission. The IP address and browser details are deleted after 90 days
- Newly prohibited: collecting event rewards more than once with several accounts or wallets
Known issues and not yet available
- Merging Google and wallet accounts, changing or removing a linked wallet
- QR connection from phone wallets
- Diamond top-up and sale (DIA ↔ ETH) stay closed during the testnet beta
- After respawning inside your own castle with its gate closed, the death-recovery card may not show
