Weapons and Q skills
Every weapon has its own Q skill with its own wind-up, reach, damage, knockback and cooldown. Press Q out of range and you close in to the skill's reach, then use it once. W A S D always take priority while you close in.
| Weapon | Q skill |
|---|---|
| Bare hands | Dash punch |
| Club | Sweep |
| Axe | Armor break |
| Sword | Flurry |
| Spear | Piercing thrust |
| Bow | Power shot |
Boss weapons keep their class's feel but carry their own Q skills — the imugi spear's torrent thrust, the ogre axe's fissure breaker, the sangun sword's triple slash, the dokkaebi club's fire club and the black-dragon bow's twin-dragon shot.
One-handed weapons and shields
One-handed weapons — clubs, axes, swords and knives — go with a shield. Switching to a two-handed weapon — any spear or bow — sends the shield back to your bag. A shield adds 20 maximum health and 10 percentage points of damage reduction; total damage reduction caps at 80%.
Healing
Bandages take 0.9 seconds and potions 1.4 seconds of focus, then heal 20 and 40. Moving, attacking or getting hit cancels them, and the item is only used when the focus completes. Health also recovers on its own — 0.8 per second starting 8 seconds after you were last hit, plus 2 per second within 3 m of a campfire after just 5 seconds.
Wind-ups and dodging
Bandit and monster attacks always come after a wind-up of fixed length. Read the pose and the ground marker, then dodge with Shift — you're briefly invulnerable while dodging. Veteran bandits and bandit captains sidestep slow skills and may counter.
Death and full loot
You start with 80 health. When you fall, every equipped and carried item drops to the ground, one by one, and anyone can pick it up for 150 seconds. Kills never create new items.
Five seconds later you respawn with empty hands and an empty bag, invulnerable for 4 seconds. A castle you bound at its priest always wins; otherwise you come back at the nearest allied castle, forward camp or your own tent — and with none of those, at a safe spot near where you fell. Stay completely empty-handed for the next 25 seconds and you move 25% faster — go and get your things back.
