Weapon skills and dodge: controls, effects and cooldowns

Using skills

Your equipped main weapon determines your Q skill. Equip the weapon to use it. Unarmed combat and main weapons without a dedicated skill use Rush Punch.

This page covers weapon Q skills. Skills taught by skill books last for the current season and are used from the quickbar; see which skill each book teaches in the item catalog.

  1. Click a target to attack, or select it with Tab.
  2. Press Q or the skill button. You approach automatically when out of range; movement keys cancel the approach.
  3. Bow skills aim before firing. Moving or dodging during aim cancels the shot. Carry the required arrows in your inventory.

Q and Shift are default bindings and can be changed in settings. The skill cooldown starts on activation; switching weapons does not reset the remaining cooldown.

Damage multipliers apply to weapon base damage per hit. Not every hit is guaranteed to land; mastery, buffs, target defenses and gate rules change the final damage. Armor penetration ignores a fraction of defenses; it is not bonus damage. Bosses and fixed structures cannot be pushed or pulled.

Windup is the time before the first melee contact, or the aim time for bow skills. Bow release animation and arrow travel take additional time. Range is the base in-game distance.
